UFC 247 attendance, gate and bonuses

February 9, 2020 by Jason Cruz Leave a Comment

UFC 247 took place on Saturday night in Houston and the local crowd came out to make it the highest grossing event at the Toyota Center.

Mario Bautista, Khaos Williams, Trevin Giles and James Krause drew the $50K bonuses.  Notably, Krause fought on just a days’ notice to face hometown favorite Giles.  The two drew Fight of the Night.  The performance bonuses went to Mario Bautista for his KO of Miles John in the 2nd round and Williams ended Alex Morono in the first round.

The event drew 17,401 in attendance for a gate of $3,549,418 making it an all-time Toyota Center revenue record.

Payout Perspective:

The attendance and gate are impressive considering that up until a couple days before the fight a lot of the upper bowl at the Toyota Center remained open and the ticket prices on the secondary market had dropped. But a high number of late-ticket purchasers as well as the prices that people paid attributed to this record.
