Davis-Gamboa fight tops Showtime Boxing telecast with 577K viewers

December 31, 2019 by Jason Cruz Leave a Comment

Showtime Boxing Saturday night drew 577,000 viewers for the main event of Gervonta Davis and Yuriokis Gamboa.

Davis stopped Gamboa in Round 12 at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georga Saturday night.  It was the first time that the undefeated Davis went past round 9.

In addition on the card, Jean Pascal defeated Badou Jack via split decision and Lionell Thompson defeated Jose Uzcategui via unanimous decision.

Payout Perspective:

One would have to think that 577,000 Showtime subscribers for this event is great viewership for Davis who PBC is trying to build into a showcase fighter.  The event did have two good undercard fights to carry the telecast.  It also outdrew Bellator on the Paramount Network.
