UFC 245 – The Payout Pick

December 14, 2019 by Jason Cruz Leave a Comment

UFC 245 takes place later today and MMA Payout has its picks for the three title fights.

GDR vs. Amanda Nunes

Germaine de Randamie comes in as a heavy underdog as the Lionness is up to -350 with some places.  This is a rematch of a 2013 fight in which Nunes won via stoppage in the first round. Don’t expect an upset here as Nunes has too much power for GDR and unless we see a flash knockout, I don’t see a viable way for the challenger to prevail.

Alexander Volkanovski vs. Max Holloway

Hollway is defending his Featherweight title and has the height advantage over the challenger.  The 145-pound division is where he feels comfortable but Volkanovski holds a reach advantage and perhaps a strength advantage over Holloway.  But, it may Holloway’s quickness that will be the reason for the win here as we should see the same speed and power he displayed against Brian Ortega.

Kamaru Usman vs. Colby Covington

This is the big one for tonight’s UFC event.  Usman’s odds have gone down as we get closer to the event as he’s down to -185.  It’s a match of two wrestlers with Covington having an unlimited gas tank, although Usman is similar.  Could we see the Oregon State wrestler win a title outright and garner the moniker of the promotion’s Most Hated Man.  Hate to say it, but I think Covington wins a decision here.

Enjoy the fights.

Wait, is this for real? Trump spent $60 million of our taxpayer funds to host a UFC fight and then is selling UFC coin to line his family’s pockets. The Trump corruption swamp is a mile deep.
