UFC 229 purses: Conor $3M, Khabib $2M

October 5, 2018 by Jason Cruz Leave a Comment

The Nevada Athletic Commission has released the payouts for Saturday’s UFC 229.  Conor McGregor tops the list with $3 million while his opponent, Khabib Nurmogomedov will make $2 million.

Both will not receive a win bonus if they should win.

Tony Ferguson will make $150,000 to show and an extra $5,000 if he wins against Anthony Pettis who will make $145,000 to show and another $145,000 if he wins.  Ovince Saint Preux is set to make $86,000 (and another $86,000 if he should win) against Dominick Reyes who will make $45,000 (and $45,000 to win).  Derrick Lewis is set to make $135,000 (with $135,000 to win) against Alexander Vokov ($75,000 to show and $75,000 to win).

Michelle Waterson will make $50K and $50K to win against Felice Herrig ($40K and $40K to win).  Sergio Pettis will make $46,000 plus another $46K to win against Jussier Formiga ($43K and $43K to win.  Vicente Lque will make $38,000 to show and $38,000 to win against Jalin Turner who is making $10K and $10K.

To round out the rest of the card:

Aspen Ladd $12K and $12K – Tonya Evinger $30K and $30K

Scott Holtzman $30K and $30K – Alan Patrick $30K and $30K

Yana Kunitskaya $25K and $25K – Lina Lansberg $25K and $25K

Gray Maynard $54K and $54K -Nik Lentz $50K and $50K

Ryan LaFlare $33K and $33K – Tony Martin $28K and $28K

Payout Perspective:

The salaries look bigger at the top of the card with McGregor taking in $3 million and Khabib $2 million.  As McGregor inferred, its likely that the $3 million is just a small percentage of his overall pay for the fight.  But, Anthony Pettis could make close to $300,000 if he can beat Tony Ferguson.  If he wins, Ferguson will make an extra $5,000 on top of his flat $150,000 pay.  Not sure how that was determined.  But, this card does seem top heavy in salaries for the PPV card.
