UFC 228 Prelims draw lowest ratings of 2018

September 11, 2018 by Jason Cruz Leave a Comment

The UFC 228 Prelims on FX drew 560,000 viewers on FX Saturday night according to Nielsen via ShowBuzz Daily.  The ratings make it the lowest-rated Prelim event of 2018.

The prelims were switched from FS1 to FX due College Football.  This is the second straight PPV with FX serving as the home for the prelims.

In addition, the UFC Prefight show drew 271,000 viewers and a 0.11 in the A18-49 demo.

The feature bout of the Prelims saw Taitiana Suarez defeated Carla Esparza via stoppage in the 3rd round.  The event drew a 0.25 in the A18-49 demo.

Payout Perspective:

The Prelims saw a decrease from the 717,000 viewers on FX for the UFC 227 Prelims.  The 560,000 viewers is the lowest rating for the Prelims this year.  It’s the lowest since UFC 215 on FX.  A combination of College Football, move to FX and lack of drawing power may have contributed to the low ratings.

This Anthony Smith situation is sad, its another cry for help of someone that's obviously suffering from something. No way you harm your wife and threaten to kill yourself just because.
