Jon Fitch signs with Bellator

March 1, 2018 by Jason Cruz Leave a Comment

Jon Fitch has signed with Bellator according to a company release.  Previously, Fitch had been associated with the Professional Fighters League.

The press release did not state a debut date for Fitch but he enters a welterweight division with Rory MacDonald, Douglas Lima, Paul Daley, Michael Page to name a few.

Fitch, the PFL welterweight champion indicated early last month that he would head to Bellator.  Fitch announced that he was a free agent as of February 2nd.  The former UFC title contender had been the WSOF, now PFL welterweight champion.

Payout Perspective:

The news that Fitch is heading to Bellator is good news for Bellator as it adds another name to its roster.  It does not bode well for PFL as it has yet to hold an event this year.  Also, the inability to re-sign Fitch is a loss of a recognizable name for its upcoming season.  Despite turning 40, Fitch can still be competitive in Bellator.
