UFC 207 draws largest MMA attendance in Nevada

December 31, 2016 by Jason Cruz 35 Comments

UFC 207 drew 18,533 and a live gate of $4.75 according to UFC officials post-event.  The gate set an attendance record in Nevada but lands 14th on the list of biggest gates in Nevada.

The event was a sell-out according to the UFC.  As we reported on Friday morning, there were just scattered tickets available through the T-Mobile Arena.  It was announced that they were also selling standing room only tickets.

The numbers narrowly beat out UFC 200 (18,202) for attendance but UFC 200 had the bigger gate $10.7 million.

(h/t: MMA Junkie)

In comparison UFC 141, the last Friday night show in Vegas for the company did 13,793 and a $3.1 million for Lesnar-Overeem.

Payout Perspective:

Dana White indicated that he predicted the gate to be $4.5 million and the numbers did slightly better perhaps due to the standing room only seats.  The sell out on a Friday night before New Year’s Eve shows the star power of Ronda Rousey.

The biggest attendance figure for a Las Vegas fight came in 1982, when 29,214 crammed into a specially constructed outdoor arena at Caesars Palace to see Holmes defeat Cooney.

Boxing is dead in the US. How can you actually not accept that reality? There biggest fight this year did 350k buys. It was pathetic. The UFC alone did 8 ppvs that were higher. HAHAHA!

PBC is about to close shop and has failed miserably. HBO/Showtime have slashed their budgets to lower levels than Bellator, and this was an all time low in every category for boxing this year.

UFC may be 4b down but making BIG Profits.PBC is 500m down and making no profits.Haymon is now going back to Showtime with his big fights, remember him saying Free Boxing! Boxing’s biggest star can’t even guarantee 300k buys, and is biggest coward in the sport.Arum says it all the time boxing makes no profit in USA or very little nowdays.UFC is barely 20 years old and clearly on the rise.In 2016 Connor alone outdrew ENTIRE BOXING on PPV. FACT Next years are going to be even worse for Boxing.

FF will never take the actual answer and look at the evidence, all he can do is run away from the argument. Here’s a perfect example:

Who has done the most annual ppv buys in 9 out of the last 10 years- mma or boxing? Watch him run from the question. HAHA!!

It really doesn’t matter if WME doesn’t turn the business for a profit, the fact is the sport is at an all time high, while boxing is at an all time low.

FYI, FOX Is rumored to be paying 250-350m for the extension.

Who is going to sell a ppv period in boxing? Bellator has bigger ppv stars than the entire sport of boxing. Hahaha.

@ Fight Fan, even though the UFC is doing back to back big ppvs in a year, it’s all just short term gain. It’s the long term that really matters. In the long term, Boxing is looking a lot better than the UFC.

You keep accusing others of dodging facts while you are dodging facts.

Outside of 2014 where their two biggest ppv stars didn’t fight and half of their headliners were injured, can you name the last year when boxing did more ppv buys than mma did?
