Spider latest to express discontent with UFC

October 7, 2016 by Jason Cruz 4 Comments

Anderson Silva is the latest UFC athlete to express displeasure with UFC management as he told a Brazilian media outlet how he was disappointed with how he was treated.

UOL, via MMA Fighting, spoke to the former champion about his feelings after UFC 200.  He indicated that he was not thanked by Dana or Lorenzo for stepping up last minute against Daniel Cormier.  He also was offered to be a “plan B” for this Saturday’s main event in case one of the fighter’s was injured.

Payout Perspective:

He was once touted as the best pound-for-pound fighter and now he is upset about the way he is being treated by the UFC.  Silva’s has stepped up for the company more than once last minute (e.g. UFC 153).  His description of his treatment sounds as though the UFC is taking him for granted.  Of course, there’s two sides to every story.  On the downside of his career, it seems that the UFC is phasing him out of bigger events.  It does seem that a lot of the fighters speaking out now have done so after the sale of the UFC.  Perhaps they feel more freedom to speak without repercussions from management.

Ive said it over and over, the Brazilians are learning what I have been saying for a while now….the UFC targets a certain ethnic demographic in the USA, and will push the fighters who that demographic identifies with and the others are merely “the help.” The Brazilians have finally learned that…..this week Cyborg also pointed out that she was being mistreated because she wasnt blonde haired and blue eyed. The Brazilians ALL need to jump to Bellator, without them, the UFC is DONE. Send a strong message to White and those types of fans
