UFC Fight Night 94 attendance, gate and bonuses

September 18, 2016 by Jason Cruz 6 Comments

MMA Junkie reports the attendance, gate and bonuses from UFC Fight Night 94 in Hidalgo, Texas.

The UFC announced attendance of 5,624 for a live gate of $323,419.  The event took place at the State Farm Arena in Hidalgo, Texas.  The venue holds about 6,800 for concerts.

In addition, the UFC announced bonuses from the FS1-aired event.  Michael Johnson, Chas Skelly, Evan Dunham and Rick Glenn earned $50,000 bonuses.

Johnson and Skelly earned Performance Bonuses while Dunham and Glenn earned the Fight of the Night.  It was Glenn’s debut with the organization.

Payout Perspective:

Saturday night’s Fight Night event is the lowest gate of 2016 and the second-lowest attendance of the year.  Only the Sunday night UFC Fight Night 88 at the Mandalay Bay drew less attendance.  Still, for the venue, the attendance does not seem too bad.  But in comparison to other events, it does look off.

I am sure they made a profit. It was a low risk event. Next weekend show will be big with Cyborg and Nelson vs Silva in Brazil.

Im surprised they went there, a heavily Mexican American crowd isnt going to be the right demographic for UFC….an area with a large white crowd is. Exactly why the UFC doesnt put on shows in Oakland or Gary or areas with majority black crowds.

Was not an attention-getter in Texas. Texas A&M played in primetime on ESPN. Texas Longhorns immediately played after on ESPN (at Cal late into the night).
And Canelo Alvarez drew an attendance of 51,000+ at Cowboys Stadium.

Please stop with the racial stereotypes please, kmost of the prelims were Mexican and they seemed quite over.

How do these mega poor Inner city Black kids afford HBO & Showtime not to mention PPVs?

Andre Ward fought on BET and did terrible ratings,

I wonder who do buy tickets to Mayweather & Pacquiao fights in Vegas when they used to do $10 million plus easy for a few years, especially the ones near ringside, it isn’t really rappers, it’s older white rich guys.

So because the realities of who takes part in what sport offend you I should not mention them? no sorry, that wont be happening.
It is easy to see who and what the sport is made up of, and easy to see who and what boxing is made up of. A conversation with a suburbanite on who the best boxers are will yield as comical a conversation as who are the best UFC fighters to an inner city crowd.
Oh….and since PBC is on free tv, hat shoots down even the premise of what you are trying to say. When NBC puts on fights its between 1.5m and 6m viewers. I grew up in the inner city, and there still are 5 boxing gyms within 10 mins drive of each other. how many of those boxing gyms are in the burbs?

Been a big supporter of his, but I’ve seen enough. Heads need to roll to answer for the way this team is performing.

Fire Dan Wilson.

I don’t disagree with the criticism of the quality of the fights here but the amount of time spent rehashing old comments from Rousey & Carano in a sport where open bigots, accused rapist & friends of war criminals & cartel bosses regularly get top billing seems overboard.
