September’s PBC on Spike draws 547,000 viewers

September 13, 2016 by Jason Cruz 5 Comments

PBC on Spike TV Friday night drew 547,000 per Sports TV Ratings.

In the main event Daniel Jacobs stopped Sergio Mora to retain his middleweight world title.  Per Sports TV Ratings, it drew 187,000 viewers in the adult 18-49 demo.

The event was up a slight increase from PBC last event on Spike TV in August.  Jacobs’ win makes him the next in line to face Gennady Golovkin if we listen to the World Boxing Association’s issuance of a mandatory challenge.

Looks alright for an unwanted rematch of two non draws.
Jacobs is good tho, and hes starting to make a name, but Jacobs-Mora II wasn’t needed.

Rumor is Canelo-Brooks and GGG-Jacobs is on deck for early 2017. GGG-Saunders also might happen.
Jacobs potentially could give GGG some trouble.
    Canelo KOs Brooks in 4.

Note: Glory Kickboxing on ESPN2 (517K viewers) inherited the strong lead-in that the Louisville-Syracuse game provided (1.73 million viewers).

Carmel – unfortunately for Jacobs, Mora is the only guy who would fight him.

I should point out that according to those at TKO that the ESPN/MVPW boxing deal is a revenue sharing agreement similar to the original AEW/Turner deal in 2019 and not a full paying media rights deal which Top Rank had and wasn't renewed.
