TUF 24 draws 370,000 on FS1

September 1, 2016 by Jason Cruz 9 Comments

The 2-hour debut of The Ultimate Fighter 24 drew just 370,000 viewers on FS1 Wednesday night according to Sports TV Ratings.  It is the lowest-rated debut for the TUF franchise.

This season’s TUF features Joseph Benavidez and Daniel Cejudo as coaches.  The fighters in the house are all champions from regional organizations in the 125 pound division.  The winner will get a shot at current champion Demetrious Johnson.

Per Sports TV Ratings the event garnered 197,000 viewers in the adult 18-49 demo.

Payout Perspective:

In comparison, TUF 23 drew 479,000 this past spring.  Last fall, TUF 22 drew 622,000 viewers.  Of course, TUF 22 had Conor McGregor and Urijah Faber as coaches.  For a division that is not that popular, we might see some very low ratings this season.

Wow horrible ratings, The Ultimate Failure should be the new name. Rip I used to enjoy it but it is just another stale reality show now.

Yes, TUF is still going (unlike boxing reality competition shows).
    Good, new concept this season.

I think its hilarious that this guy Combo brought up a boxing reality series in comparison to poor ratings for TUF. Bro….give it up. One thing as nothing to do with the other.

TUF continues well beyond 20 seasons, with international editions.

MMA succeeds where boxing failed (with a few attempts).

    @ Wil

I wouldn’t pay much attention to that guy. He writes a version of the same comment for every new season of tuf. It’s just weak bait, deflection and an attempt to troll. Someone here really must have upset him once upon a time, lol.

No matter, Dana and Co. will continue to put champs and ENTIRE DIVISIONS on hold for this joke of a show where the “winners” get locked into minimum wage contract for two or three years. And yes, Dana, the whoooole world agrees with you that the flyweight division and Demetrious Johnson are THE most exciting things in MMA world, as the ratings and PPV buys always indicate.
