PBC on Spike draws 507,000

August 30, 2016 by Jason Cruz 4 Comments

PBC on Spike TV Saturday night drew 507,000 viewers according to Nielsen sources.  The ratings reflect a slight decrease in viewership from last month.

The event featured Robert Guererro as he faced David Perralta.  It was Perralta that came out on top with a split decision victory.

The card, which aired from 9-12:10am ET, drew 196,000 viewers in the adult 18-49 demo per Sports TV Ratings.

PBC on Spike
3/13/2015 869,000
4/24/2015 569,000
5/22/2015 772,000
6/12/2015 446,000
8/14/2015 679,000
9/11/2015 581,000
10/16/2015 315,000
11/13/2015 466,000
4/1/2016 873,000
4/29/2016 513,000
7/29/2016 531,000

Payout Perspective:

PBC went up against NFL Preseason Football and UFC on Fox Saturday night which likely siphoned viewers from finding boxing on Spike TV.  Guererro has an entertaining style which is why he continues to be on television.  But, the 507,000 reflects the fact that there were other options for the casual viewer to watch.

Nailed it! Word is spreading about PBC. complete mastery. “The Hedge Fund Baby” Al Haymon is a blessing for the SPORT of boxing. All politics aside the man hit it. I will always love Bob and Don but Heyman outdid everybody. But there is a gaping hole I see. It’s a mile wide!

Guerrero has been fading for a while. He’s still an exciting fighter, but he hasn’t been a winning fighter, and ultimately you need both. Same can be said for Angulo. I was hoping this card would do better, since hardcore boxing fans still know these guys, but there was a lot going on in that same time slot and it looks like PBC lost out.

The Chivas soccer match did close to 2 million viewers, I wonder if that had an affect on the ratings?
