Bellator 151 draws 768,000 viewers

March 7, 2016 by Jason Cruz 5 Comments

Bellator 151 on Friday on Spike TV drew an overnight rating of 768,000 viewers according to Sports TV Ratings.  The ratings represent a modest increase of 5% from Bellator 150 two weeks ago.

In the main event of Friday’s fights, Darrion Caldwell submitted Joe Warren after he suplexed him on his head.  It was an impressive win by Caldwell.  The event took place at the WinStar World Casino in Thackerville, Oklahoma.

Bellator MMA Live on Spike TV 2016

Bellator 148: 568,000

Bellator 149: 1,964,000

Bellator 150, 733,000

Bellator 151: 768,000

Payout Perspective:

Based on the high ratings from the tentpole event of Bellator 149, the 2016 average is over 1 million viewers on Spike TV.  Throw out 149, at the average viewership is approximately 690,000 thus far.  The ratings are a pleasant surprise considering the event was overshadowed by UFC hype this weekend.

Once again, pretty decent numbers for Bellator. Good to see them staying in the mix, much better ratings than WSOF. I hold out hope that Bellator will one day truly challenge UFC in the mma ratings, add another 200K of average viewers and its on par with UFC. I hope they siphon off more mma talent from UFC .

More talent, they took one guy in Benson Henderson, they already had Rampage, they just got him back.

They have Caldwell, they should have made a decent bid for Sterling as those guys look like future top BWs.

NBCSN offered to pay for Bellator prelims, under Bjorn, they should see if that deal is still available and then try and buy WSOF on the cheap and beef up the roster.

They won’t do that as they want ready made names like Wand & Leben, no matter how washed up they are.

Next 3 events will be huge but I think one of them competing against Ufc.
