Rousey produces above average ratings for SNL

January 27, 2016 by Jason Cruz 14 Comments

Ronda Rousey’s appearance on Saturday Night Live provided the show with above average ratings this past Saturday night according to Television By Numbers.

Rousey’s appearance on SNL drew a 5.0 household share and a 2.5 share with the 18-49 demo in the overnight ratings for the metered markets.  The show is averaging a 4.6 household share and a 2.2 in 18-49 in overnight ratings.

Although the episode did not provide the ratings Donald Trump commanded when he appeared as a guest on SNL, Rousey is not running for president.

The ratings might have been skewed in part due to the east coast snowstorm which might have had local stations move SNL due to coverage of the snow.

Notably, Donald Trump drew a 6.6 share in November 2015 for his appearance as host.

Payout Perspective:

The above average ratings may be in part due to the east coast snowstorm as people staying inside decided to watch SNL instead of going out.  It also could be due to Rousey as many wanted to see if she could act or not.  She was better than Nancy Kerrigan and was no worse than Trump in the kits where she was a part.  Will she be back on SNL?  If her movie career takes off, it’s not out of the question.

He never had the mainstream cross over appeal that Rousey has and that number is a work of fiction.

The funniest thing that came out of this was Cyborgs reaction, LOL.

Mayweather is a bigger star without question. Rousey has no pull outside of the White Suburban housewife. Wheres her 4.6M ppv then?

Rousey is of course the bigger star. She just hosted SNL. Mayweather was never offered that. No one even talks about Mayweather anymore, and when they did, he never had the cross over appeal Rousey did. She’s proving it right now with you stalking people on a mma website about her. Haha.

Hosted SNL? No one watches SNL, which is a good thing for Ron Da Rousey because it just means less people got to see her botch it up.
Lets see she calls out Floyd and says she can beat him, and then she gets brutally KOd by a female boxer. Floyd responds with “I don’t know him”.
He didnt even know it was a girl HAHAHAHA.
Molly Shannon was a bigger “Superstar” than Rousey.
Theres a little SNL wordplay for you there scatman.

Hahaha. He can’t take it. Rousey gets on SNL and Floyd was never invited. Rousey is talked about by everyone these days, has countless movies where she is starring in and no one even mentions Mayweather’s name unless it involves Rousey or McGregor. HAHAHAHA!! She even loses (to a world class mma fighter, not boxer) and still is a bigger star than running Mayweather.

    Boxing fans ……desperately scrambling.

    HAHAHAHA!!!!

Floyds not even in the last few Fight Night video games. The best boxer of this era isn’t even in the boxing video games, so why would he be on SNL?
UFC 2 video game is promoting the fact that Mike Tyson will have two playable characters in the game. UFC has so called “stars” yet they are taking a retired boxer and putting him as their main attraction. Wow.
Back to Rousey. Her performance was awful on SNL and virtually panned by everyone. Rousey is going downhill fast. Got brutally KOd by a boxer, and then just does one of the worse hosting jobs in history. By the way Miley Cyrus hosted a few months back and some guy named Adam Driver hosted the week before Ronda. Yea got some superstars there dont ya?

MMA stars are all over tv, internet ,etc. In Hollywood films, etc.. Boxers…..crickets……

No one cares about Mayweather anymore. He doesn’t exist and no one will be talking about him again until he goes broke 15 years from now after he tries to get into boxing promotion and it fails miserably.

Rousey is a much bigger star than Mayweather. You just can’t accept the fact that even though she was defeated by another mma fighter, she is still a bigger star than any boxer right now as well as Mayweather. Also, you hate the fact that she would destroy any female boxer and some male boxers(like Mayweather) in a real fight. HAHAHAHA!!!
