PBC on Spike TV for December draws 538,000 viewers

December 22, 2015 by Jason Cruz 7 Comments

PBC on Spike TV Friday night drew 538,000 viewers peaking at 790,000 according to Nielsen sources.

The average viewership for PBC events on SpikeTV since it began in March 2015 is 582,000 viewers.  The event on Friday was highlighted by a main event featuring Rances Barthelemy as he took on Denis Shafikov.  Barthelemy won by unanimous decision.

PBC on Spike
869,000 3/13/2015
569,000 4/24/2015
772,000 5/22/2015
446,000 6/12/2015
679,000 8/14/2015
583,000 9/11/2015
315,000 10/16/2015
466,000 11/13/2015
538,000 12/18/2015

Payout Perspective:

As we near year’s end we will look at PBC and whether it was a successful first year or not.  Spike’s Friday Night Lights Out promotion was seemingly non-existent after a couple months.  The ratings are up from the past two PBC events on Spike TV but is it due to the actual fights or lack of programming on other networks?

Bellator is easily defeating PBC on Spike and they have a fraction of the overhead. PBC can’t continue this much longer.

Wilder, thurman, danny garcia, broner, errol spence are getting more known thru pbc diff platforms, a year or two..they would be ppv stars…this is before showtime and hbo spend huge sums to promote them….

PPV stars?? Hahaha. You need to beat De La Hoya to be a ppv star in boxing. Those guys are drawing garbage ratings on the networks.

PBC ..double/triple?? You need to reread the ratings reports. They are declining from the bad numbers they started out with.

HBO boxing viewership was up 10% than last year.
PBC had the most watched combat sporting event on TV this year, outside of Mayweather-pacquiao.
PBC had over 85M-90M viewers in total viewership since March, which is more than the UFC.

PBC will be out of business in a year, is outdrawn by Bellator on Spike and has horrible ratings across the board on all channels.

The UFC outdraws anything boxing has to offer.
