UFC announces back to back to back shows in December in Vegas

September 4, 2015 by Jason Cruz 7 Comments

The UFC announced at its “Go Big” press conference on Friday that it will run three Las Vegas events in three days in December culminating with UFC 194 featuring Conor McGregor and Jose Aldo.

UFC Fight Night 80 will take place on Thursday, December 10th at The Chelsea at The Cosmopolitan Hotel in Las Vegas.  The Ultimate Fighter 22 Finale will be on December 11 featuring Franke Edgar taking on Chad Mendes with the winner likely to face the Aldo-McGregor winner the next night.  In addition Tony Ferguson gets a chance at the returning Khabib Nurmagomedov.

The third night features the big one featuring McGregor and Aldo to unify the 145 pound belt.

Payout Perspective:

It’s an interesting promotional tool to lead up to UFC 194.  The UFC has run back-to-back shows in Vegas the last two Julys.  Based on the venue for Thursday’s Fight Night, one might expect TUF alums on the card plus one contender-type fight.  Regardless, the UFC is trying to make this a big weekend similar to its July event.

Awesome, would like to see a prospect type card. They already have 194 which is the best combat sports card of the year and TUF finale has Edgar/Mendes and Tony/Khabib which is awesome.

Putting on a fun little Fight Pass show with some prospects would be a great move.

Haha. Boxing trolls self destructing. They see the monster weekend coming up in December. They also see the avalanche heading for boxing. Boxing’s only two ppv stars over the past 7 years have one fight left and then they are retiring. Uh oh. Maybe Adrien Broner can save the day. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!

Wait, is this for real? Trump spent $60 million of our taxpayer funds to host a UFC fight and then is selling UFC coin to line his family’s pockets. The Trump corruption swamp is a mile deep.
