PBC on Spike TV 3 increases to 811K in DVR+3 numbers

June 4, 2015 by Jason Cruz 24 Comments

MMA Payout has learned from a Nielsen source that last Friday’s PBC on Spike TV event featuring Amir Khan taking on Chris Algieri increased in viewership to 811,000 viewers in DVR +3 ratings.  Its peak viewership increased to 1.3 million.

Earlier this week, we reported that Friday’s event drew 772,000 viewers with a peak viewership of 1.12 million.  The adjusted viewership ratings to calculate DVR viewers in the 3 days after the live show drew an additional 39,000 viewers.

Payout Perspective:

The adjusted ratings did not increase a whole lot as compared to DVR numbers from TUF 21 on FS1 this year.  In comparison, TUF 21 DVR numbers increase the live viewership by 173,000 viewers on average.  We will try to track these DVR numbers for boxing as we get them.

1.3 million peak is very good for Spike. If they keep appearing on Spike they will grow this partnership. It should be hitting 1.5 million peaks frequently within one year

Haha. Several Bellator cards have exceeded that number. Ortiz-Bonnar destroyed it. These numbers are horrible considering they are on Spike and who is fighting.

They will never hit 1.5m frequently on Spike and most likely won’t ever hit that mark. PBC’s numbers have been going down, not up and the numbers weren’t good to begin with.

These guys clearly don’t mind flushing other people’s hundreds of millions down the drain.

Now D compares pbc with bellator? He picks the highest rated bellator shows too. D is touching himself! Tito was one of the UFC biggest stars bahahaha Nice try again Douche. Not saying that pbc is doing great numbers but its not bad. Funny how GGG on HBO wipes out mma in recent months. Suck on that!

Holy Troll!! Negative, negative, hater. By the way I thought this was an mma website. so why the boxing articles? oh because they want to remain relavant i forgot. Bellator rarely gets over an 800k peak. as I recall they have gottem as low as 400k average viewership. Ortiz vs Bonner was their high water mark. They held press confrences for the event and appeared on wrestling shows. It also marked the beginning of scott Coker and featured UFC fighters. people wanted to see how UFC fighters would look like in a different venue. This event beat all but one bellator event. I’m not saying these are great numbers for PBC but extremely comparable with Bellator probably stronger.

HBO is King of Boxing, then Showtime. We’ll see how this PBC experiment pans out, but so far it is looking like they are desperate on being the Boxing’s scummy UFC.

showtime is good but its too small an audience. They can really step this up if they get the Showtime broadcasting team. Spike is kind of a dingy channel so I dont think Al Berstein would be a good fit for that crowd but hopefully Boxing can had some class to this white trash network by adding Berstein and the Showtime team

Saldaqueer, I also picked the highest rated PBC and boxing shows. You fucking idiot. You are the one cherry picking stats.

Ortiz WAS a star in the UFC YEARS ago! He is a washed up side show who hasn’t defeated a real opponent in literally 5 years. He wouldn’t even be ranked in the top 25 right now at 205lbs. He wins fights against welterweights and other washed up fighters.

GGG does not beat UFC FOX shows.

Fagbusiness, you still haven’t grasp this concept that this is a mma website that puts about 10% of non mma content in their articles like wwe/boxing/kickboxing. You also can’t call anyone a troll because that is what you’ve dedicated yourself to and then when someone else starts trolling you, you cry like the bitch you are.

PBC on Spike with Amir Khan (Mayweather’s next ppv opponent) didn’t even come close the Ortiz-Bonnar. They were demolished by it. Anytime Bellator has one of their named headliners, they will beat PBC on Spike because the 18-49 demo prefers mma to boxing by a significant margin. Pretty funny that we are talking about a mid major mma promotion destroying numbers from the biggest boxing production right now. Also, it didn’t feature UFC fighters, it featured Bellator fighters. If they were UFC fighters, they would be fighting in the UFC. Also, there were several Bellator events that beat Khan-Algieri. You just don’t know what you are talking about.

destroying pbc numbers? bitch only one show has beaten PBC numbers. both numbers are comparable in the ratings. PBC didnt hold a press conference for Amir and Algeri like they did for ortiz

4.4 million ppv buys for may 2nd. 4.7 when the final tallys come in. beat that.

Again, you are an idiot who doesn’t know what he is talking about.

Chandler vs Alvarez did an average of 1.1m viewers and peaked at 1.4m.

    http://www.mmaweekly.com/bellator-106-chandler-vs-alvarez-ii-sets-record-high-tv-ratings-mark

Also, yes, that Ortiz fight destroyed the PBC numbers on Spike. And the fight above also beat it. This is a mid major fight promotion and it nearly doubled the PBC card.

You take the word of Bob Arum. I would never take the word of Dana White on ppv numbers. That’s one of the many differences between the two of us. Also, let me know when boxing can do what the UFC has done where they beat boxing in ppv and revenue for 7 out of the last 8 years. Let me know when boxing gets 9m ppv buys in a year like the UFC did a few years back.

    You are such an idiot.

its not just arums numbers. its HBO & Showtime’s numbers. They released the press release. They are publicly traded companies. If they are proven to be lying they can get sued because investors can say they are not forthcoming. no one is denying the credibility of these numbers accept you. NO ONE. Doesnt that tell you something? Jealous

Those numbers just boggle the mind dont they. people still in disbelief. LOL. “may 2nd wont do more than 3 million ppv buys”. Complete detachment from reality. Has no grasp of Boxings popularity.

Haha. I guarantee I make more money in a week than you make in a year and I bet you actually do live with your parents idiot.

HBO & Showtime were part of the production. We have both HBO & Showtime proven to have lied about previous numbers also. They have no credibility.

They already have been proven frauds, yet the lawsuits haven’t come flying. Why?? Because no one that invests in those companies gives a shit about some trivial boxing ppv numbers because that makes up less than .00000000001% of their income. Haha. Not to mention the fact that they can claim it was an accounting error, etc. Those numbers aren’t publicly released to the stockholders or the SEC. They have already been proven to lie about numbers retard.

    Fabricating quotes of mine again?

I notice you shut up about the Bellator argument because you were proven dead wrong again for the millionth time, fucking moron.

Yep and being that the Superbowl is seen by over 115 million and comparing the HUGE amount of social media stats definitely points to at LEAST 4.4 Million U.S buys alone not counting the international buyrate.

Amazing number could see 5 million total.

International buyrate??? TV contracts aren’t buy rates.
