Boxing returns to radio with SiriusXM-PBC deal

April 8, 2015 by Jason Cruz 3 Comments

The USA Today reports that Premier Boxing Champions has signed a deal with satellite radio’s SiriusXM that will bring boxing to radio.  Coverage begins this Saturday with the April 11th card taking place on NBC network television.

SiriusXM will broadcast 10 PBC events in 2015 although the future broadcasts will be announced later.  The satellite radio company will broadcast the boxing events.  Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

Payout Perspective:

Boxing on the radio is a throwback to the days of pre-television.  It is an art to describe action and it will be up to the broadcast team of Randy Gordon, Gerry Cooney and Sway Calloway to pull it off.  It will be interesting to see whether today’s generation will appreciate it.  The SiriusXM contract is another platform through with Al Haymon’s PBC will get exposure for its product.

@Josh_HokitUFC You’re gonna cry you were cancelled by the left for “free speech”. And then you’ll post 200 times a day on Twitter until fox and friends invites you on to “tell your story”. And after that you’ll run for congress and your campaign will be centered on white grievance.

This is

Real question. Was this announced or is there an intern somewhere that is taking note of ever fighter’s follow and unfollow?

Ian Garry unfollowed PFL fighter Alexei Pergande after a clip resurfaced of him taking down Garry in sparring:

"Ian Garry is lying about me... I'm not sure why he made up a lie [about me filming him without permission]."
