JDS, Overeem top UFC on Fox 13 salaries

January 14, 2015 by Jason Cruz 21 Comments

MMA Fighting reports the salaries from December’s UFC on Fox 13.  The salary figures were released the regulatory body for the event, the Arizona Racing Department.

Nate Diaz drew a fine of 20% of his purse due to not making weight.  Thus, Diaz made only $16,000.

Via MMA Fighting:

Junior dos Santos ($130,000 + $130,000 = $260,000) def. Stipe Miocic ($30,000)
Rafael dos Anjos ($41,000 + $41,000 + $4,000* = $86,000) def. Nate Diaz ($20,000 – $4,000* = $16,000)
Alistair Overeem ($100,000 + $50,000 = $150,000) def. Stefan Struve ($40,000)
Matt Mitrione ($33,000 + $33,000 = $66,000) def. Gabriel Gonzaga ($38,000)

Joanna Jedrzejczyk ($10,000 + $10,000 = $20,000) def. Claudia Gadelha ($10,000)
John Moraga ($25,000 + $25,000 = $50,000) def. Willie Gates ($8,000)
Ben Saunders ($14,000 + $14,000 = $28,000) def. Joe Riggs ($16,000)
Drew Dober ($8,000 + $8,000 = $16,000) def. Jamie Varner ($20,000)
Ed Herman ($47,000) vs. Derek Brunson (N/A) cancelled
Bryan Barberena ($8,000 + $8,000 = $16,000) def. Joe Ellenberger ($10,000)

David Michaud ($8,000 + $8,000 = $16,000) def. Garett Whiteley ($8,000)
Henry Cejudo ($15,000 + $15,000 = $30,000) def. Dustin Kimura ($15,000)
Ian Entwistle ($8,000 + $8,000 = $16,000) def. Anthony Birchak ($8,000)

Payout Perspective:

According to MMA Fighting, the IRS took a portion of non-US fighters upfront.  So, while JDS’ reported fight purse was $260,000, it dropped to $182,000 (minus 30%) per MMA Fighting.  One might expect that the $50,000 bonus JDS received on top of his fight purse was also taxed.  Two years ago this past December, Nate Diaz made $50,000 in his loss to Benson Henderson at UFC on Fox 5.  He now is at $20K/$20K although missing weight dropped him down even more.

Saldaqueef still attempting to learn how to read. He doesn’t comprehend what it means that these were only their base salaries and not full disclosure pay. He is a gay boxing paid troll, so no surprises here.

You really can’t spin having a former champion with a ridiculous 130k base/130k win & the opponent in the Main Event with 30k, now that is sad. It’s not about what you ‘may’ make if you win or if you get a bonus, it’s about what you are guaranteed if you only show up–130k for a former champion on a big network FOX card, that is pathetic.

Hahahaha. Klitschko receives charity purses and makes most of his money from non event related funding. His fights wouldn’t break 100k ppv buys in the US. No one gives a shit about hw boxing in N.America. He had a fight live on ESPN not long ago that did around 400k viewers. His fights generate nothing. Hahahaha. Boxing trolls spinning more of their bullshit.

Hey logical, Timothy Bradley’s opponent Diego Chaves for his last bout made 35k and got 0 bonus dollars. Miocic made at least 80k plus he probably made a lot more seeing how this was on FOX and he headlined.

D why didnt you post the rest of the numbers from that fight card.

Timothy Bradley $2mil vs Diego Chaves $35k
Matt Korobov $160k vs Andy Lee $69k
Mauricio Herrera $200k vs Jose Benavidez$90k

    Preliminary bouts,
Seanie Monaghan $35k vs Daniel Regi $8k
Mikael Zewski $15k vs Jeremy Bryan $10k

Prelim fighters on the boxing card made more than a fighter on a UFC main event.

    THE GAYEST!!!!!

By the way, WHY DON’T YOU POST THE REST OF THE NUMBERS FOR THAT FIGHT??

I’ll give you a hint, the fighters below the numbers you posted, made significantly LESS than a ufc fighter would. There were 8 fights, you only posted 5 fights. 5 fights in a ufc is the main card, so you have 3 main card fighters making 15k or less. Hahaha.

Prelim fighters in boxing pay to fight. They shine shoes for a living. HAHAHAHA!!!

HAHAHA!!! Some Russian Billionaire wants to sponsor a fight, he floors the world with a ridiculous purse offer that he knows will not recoup his investment, so he looks at it like a sponsorship. Moronic troll gets wind of it, and acts like this fight would generate what the purse purchase was or even greater. Moronic troll is special needs. That fight might have generated a few million at most. The gate was shit, it was a tv contract fight because Klitschko can’t sell a ppv, and this fight bombed with royally.

By the way, it is alarming, the lengths you will take to search for this stuff. You literally must be using up your entire day researching these poorly reinforced arguments. Half of these sites are foreign. Hahaha.

Oh, by the way, also, how many ppv buys did it generate? That’s right, Demetrious Johnson outsells Klitschko. Hahaha.

    Velasquez makes more.

Think about how pathetic hw boxing is- they can’t sell a ppv with anyone anymore. This used to be the marquee division for ppv. And now, nothing. By the way, how much of a cut is Stiverne getting of that ppv? I bet their will be a lot of buys. Haha.
