UFC TV deal in works for Australia and New Zealand

November 10, 2014 by Jason Cruz 9 Comments

MMA Junkie reports that the UFC is brokering a new TV deal with Sky and FOX Sports which could land a new edition of “The Ultimate Fighter” in the region.

UFC exec Tom Wright made the announcement this past weekend.  The UFC is working with FOX Sports Australia and Sky in New Zealand to bring a new TUF: Nations to the region.  Any deal probably will not happen until 2016 Wright stated.

Payout Perspective:

There are hurdles for this to happen despite what appears to be a strong fan base in Australia and New Zealand.  As Junkie points out, there is a cage ban in two Australian states.  But those laws could be overturned pending state elections later this month.  The international TV deals, which have been praised by S&P and has aided the company’s credit status, will also aid it with its continued expansion of its global footprint.

    Meh… peanuts.

One Anthony Mundine PPV probably generates more revenue in OZ than an entire year of UFC revenue there.

PP – maybe, but I like the way the UFC is aggressive about international expansion. They don’t have to be the biggest thing in any one country, it they can be decent size in many countries, that can add up to a lot of revenue. They just need to keep costs under control.

More like burning through money with little to show. Ufc lost millions last weekend. Not only is ppv in the shitter but they can’t sell tickets either. Oh wait! Mexico sold out. Bahahahahaha pass the doritos. Looks like spider might not make it back to the cage. Things are looking bad for 15 too. 14 is a wash Boxing did decent numbers as usual. Lots of new fighters making noise.

Well thats not true, second they barley sold 9k in tickets in a major Aus city.Boxing just did a million plus for Hopkins on HBO. What part of it don’t you get that you are a fool and can’t see the wring on the wall? Cant wait to hear your lame excuses when boxing doubles ppv this year you fuck stick!

First off, Saldahomo fag boy, this fight did over a million in gate revenue, AGAIN who cares how many people show up to watch it? The most important thing is how much money is PAID to see it. Got you are a stupid, old fuck.

HAHAHAHA!! Bernard Hopkins gate revenue……..$900k. A non title, not even a number 1 contender UFC fight generates over 1m and you are claiming the Hopkins fight was a more profitable success for the promotion? HAHAHA!! Delusions of grandeur, you wheel chair bound, diabetic.

” What part of it don’t you get that you are a fool and can’t see the WRING on the wall?”

This comment summarizes your stupidity. You spell as well as a 7 year old.

You also can’t do math because you don’t know what double means.

Dana White is such a MAGA stooge. He runs around every podcast talking about how he’s “not political” and how Donald Trump is “just his friend,” all while asking that same friend to help him write off more gambling losses and throwing him a UFC fight in front of the White House

New: UFC President Dana White has sent a letter to President Donald Trump asking him to help reverse the 90 percent limit on gambling loss deductions for US taxpayers that became law last year.

The issue has been a concern for both bettors and the gambling industry itself.

Howard Schultz sold out Seattle because he's a greedy prick who couldn't care less about the city that helped make him wealthy.

Anything he has to say about city leadership or policy is irrelevant and probably horseshit based on who he is as a person.
