UFC 177 attendance, gate and bonuses

August 30, 2014 by Jason Cruz 16 Comments

MMA Junkie reports the attendance, gate and bonuses for UFC 177.  Despite the last-minute main event change and the lack of star power, UFC fans came out to see their hometown fighter, T.J. Dillashaw as it drew 11,1000 for a gate of $700,000.

The attendance and gate were announced at the post-fight press conference.  In addition to the attendance and gate, bonuses were awarded to T.J. Dillashaw, Yancy Medeiros, Carlos Diego Fierra and Ramsey  Nijem.  All were awarded $50,000.

Dillashaw and Medeiros were awarded Permances of the Night and Fierra-Nijem received Fight of the Night.

Payout Perspective:

The attendance and gate figures infer that there was a good amount of people walking up to buy tickets today based on previous projections.  Notably, more people attendanded this fight, than the Memorial Day event in which Dillashaw won the title.   Bonuses seemed appropriate although Chris Wade could have won a Performance Bonus for his first round sub in his prelim bout.

Anybody that criticizes the ufc is always called out in anger by dw and his list of losers. 11 k is a travesty for an event. Looks like boxing will doible ufc ppv numbers in 14. Oh but wait they have mexico lmao.

Total PPV buys for 2014 will be the lowest since 2005.

Avg PPV buys for 2014 is less than half the avg in 2010, the peak PPV year.

2010 had 15 events avg 610k buys for 9.1M total PPV buys in 2010.
2014 will only have 12 events and be lucky to break 4M total buys for the year.
First 7 events of the year only averaged 290k buys.
Last night’s PPV will probably bring that average down.

UFC’s PPV business is down more than 50% since the 2010 peak.

Jose, but there tv contracts are going through the roof right now compared to back in 2010. Also, the biggest issue with their ppvs being that low is because of the injuries- how many ppvs were cancelled this year due to injuries?

Yea TV deals with pathetic numbers, and less fans watching overall, I would hardly call that through the roof . I would call it a business loosing its niche and grasping for straws.Injuries is a good excuse for a failed plan and continued bad decisions. The ufc seems to keep digging a bigger hole. Boxing will double ufc ppv in 14 ouch biotch!

Watch as the UFC places all the blame on Barao when the PPV numbers come in, they’re already being vindictive towards him for the poor Gate — what they fail to realize is that the card was not PPV worthy with or without Barao. The UFC is really doing their best effort in killing their PPV format and having cooky Dana White at the helm spewing stupidity doesn’t help whatsoever.

Sal Da QUeef is back lades and gents.

Arum’s got him working overdrive. What a pathetic little twat!

So for 7 straight years the UFC dominates boxing in the ppv industry and now all of a sudden one year boxing gets back at the top due to injuries and the ufc is losing its niche? Nice try retard.

Here are some facts about 177!
Arena holds 17k 11 k in attendance thats roughly 6 thousand empty seats
at 63 bucks a ticket avrg, in Sacramento CA. How many comps?? UFC doesn’t sell tickets that cheap! So they comped the shit out of this show and it still sucked at the gate. Too bad they cant comp ppv to bump up their inflated number bahahaha
So total shit numbers, and most likely another embarrassing ppv buy rate like under 100k 14 is the worst year ever, so whats the plan????? for 15???? the way they are going 15 wont be much better maybe 2 500k ppv s what a bunch of ass monkeys, how did they fuck it up soooooo bad?!!

Here are the facts about you: you are an old, diaper wearing twat, who is most likely wheel chair bound and in order to release your rage, you just spew your bullshit lies and exaggerations on an mma website. You don’t know basic business practices, yet you claim to be some sort of expert-no one of course believes you because it is obvious you are an idiot. You don’t know the difference between organized labor and ownership. You don’t know anything about the separation between the city, county, state and federal gov’ts. You don’t know anything about taxes. You don’t know anything about the payouts of both boxing and mma. You didn’t know the split between the cable company and the promotion. You don’t know anything about production costs. You don’t know anything about the tv contracts. You don’t know anything about the global economy. You are clueless about history. Etc, etc, etc.

In conclusion, you are just a fucking moron that is probably yelling at walls as we speak. No one listens to your bullshit lies and exaggerations. Go back to sucking Arum’s nuts you homo!

Sal and D, you both need anger management and english classes.
That has to be the poorest, most illiterate and horribly constructed attempt at slinging insults I have ever seen.
Do yourselves and the rest of the world a favor and keep your thoughts inside. You should both be embarrassed.
(That’s what humans feel when they say things that are really, really dumb)

    Good luck (guys?)
