UFC on Fox 12 attendance, gate and bonuses

July 26, 2014 by Jason Cruz 26 Comments

MMA Junkie reports the attendance, gate and bonuses for Saturday’s UFC on Fox 12.  Fights featured on the main card received all of the bonuses for the night.

Matt Brown and Robbie Lawler won for Fight of the Night while Dennis Bermudez and Anthony Johnson won performance bonuses.  Bermudez submitted Clay Guida and Johnson KO’d Lil’ Nog.  All of the fighters received the standard $50,000 each.

Attendance at the SAP Center in San Jose, California drew 11,482 fans for a live gate of $735,317.  The attendance and gate were announced at the post-fight press conference.

Payout Perspective:

While the attendance and gate did not match up to UFC on Fox 11 in Orlando, it still was a respectable figure which fell in line with the UFC on Fox 9 and 10.  The UFC couldn’t ask for more with the Fight of the Night being the main event and getting a submission and a quick KO on the main card.  It was a good variety of everything for the show.  We will see if this equates to ratings. The last two summer cards have averaged 2.3 million viewers.

I wonder what the effect of having soccer as a lead and relying the UFC broadcast an hour will have on ratings?

I think this event should do better ratings. The main event had a lot of hype and anticipation. More than those Mighty Mouse cards. Expecting a 2.8 to 3.2 range. Just not sure about the effects of the soccer game.

Cant wait to hear the excuses when this card only draws 2 millon viewers. The Summer, Soccer, there were live episodes of the Kardashians playing

    2.0 M viewers on the overnight ratings…

UFC on Fox shows have been averaging 2.5 -3.5M viewers.. That number sucks considering Dana said TUF on FX would do 3M viewers… TUF on Spike was doing 2M viewers..

UFC on Fox has been averaging 2.7M viewers.. 2.7M number doesn’t include last nights card..

    This number sucks!

If you don’t include the Cain Fight on Fox that did 5.7M viewers and the Evans and Davis card which did 4.57M viewers…

You don’t include the Cain fight or the Evans fight b/c those were not typical UFC on Fox cards. Also, there was a lot of general interest in seeing what the UFC on Fox cards were going to be…

Or you don’t include the 2 big fights because you are an idiot that cherry picks statistics and doesn’t know shit about anything.

average ticket is 65 bucks, building half empty. I guess people rather watch for free on TV. Should have been in a smaller venue, could have saved a lot in production.
I wonder what the UFC’s guarantee is on tv views? All you business experts must know what that is, you know points on views?. I bet Dan arrogantly negotiated a high number thinking they would be doing 3 to 4 million average by now on Fox. Views are all relative to the deal and costs. If you project and finance for 3 million and you do far less then is sucks. IMO anything over 1.5 mil is a success for a show that should have been a wec card, but like I said its all relative to costs.

not cherry picking stats…..first two cards are not typical is quality or promotion to the next 10 cards……I’m looking at the 10 cards that have been typical UFC on fox cards.. also including the first two cards only raises the average slightly to 3.24M viewers…

3.24M viewers on basic cable SUCKS… anyway you look at it..
TUF on Spike was doing 2M viewers…

Go back to sucking Arum’s dick you little mullet fuck.

That is the very definition of cherry picking stats. Perhaps you should reevaluate what cherry picking is.

You are an idiot as I pointed out.

HAHAHAHA!! You fucking fat slob. You don’t know shit. You have no idea what is in that contract. None. You don’t even know basic tax information, yet you are claiming to be some sort of expert on the UFC’s negotiated private deal with FOX. You are a colossal moron. For all we know they may be making more and they also may be making less. The truth of the matter is the only figure we are working with is an estimated 100m which has been reported. Your claims are completely unsubstantiated and you are accusing others of being ignorant? Plus, according to a few sources the deal was 116m per year.

You are such a fat piece of turd. HAHAHAHA!!!

This is my only screen name buddy.

People on plenty of message boards are shitting on them and they can’t all be internet trolls. If the numbers are consistently setting record lows in almost every department, it’s hard to not see a trend.

So again, what do you make of the ratings? Do you think Fox is happy and were these your expectations when the UFC was moving to Fox?

Keep attempting to convince yourself of that.

Yes, they are all internet trolls. It is the same 4 or 5 people rambling on using the same cliches and catch phrases because they are mostly boxing fanboys.

They aren’t setting record lows, you just don’t know what you are talking about.

Yes, I do think FOX is happy. Take a look at their ratings compared to everything else on FS1. NASCAR and the UFC are the only programming that aren’t completely in the gutter. The channel is doing very poorly and it has nothing to do with either of those two. As for the main FOX shows, they are putting low profile fights typically on, this isn’t like HBO or Showtime who put major titles on the line from time to time. These are usually either 125lb title fight headliners or contender fights. The one time they put a hw title on FOX it set nearly every record you could imagine.
