Showtime scores Wheaties opportunity

June 24, 2014 by Jason Cruz Leave a Comment

Despite being sidelined with an injury, Anthony “Showtime” Pettis will be a part of Team Wheaties.  The announcement came through the cereal company.

On his Instagram account, it appeared as though Pettis was shooting a commercial for Wheaties.

It’s an honor to be part of the @wheaties team!! #TeamWheaties #blessed http://t.co/kIUCQq1bZE — Anthony Pettis (@Showtimepettis) June 24, 2014

Pettis has a page on the company’s web site as a part of Team Wheaties.

Payout Perspective:

It appears that Pettis is a part of a broader marketing campaign by the company.  No word if Pettis will have his own image on the face of a Wheaties box.  What the sponsorship shows is that Showtime’s reps are doing their job in keeping his presence known.  Even with the injuries and being out of the cage, Pettis still has sponsorship opportunities outside of just logos on his fight gear.  The cynical may say he’s still living off of the “Showtime Kick.”  But, Pettis has the look and the style that would make him appealing to a mainstream sponsor.

Right wing grift is so hilariously easy. Just write a very weird and creepy fantasy story you know your paper won’t publish, then make a public show of resigning because of it, and you’ll instantly have a job offer from Clay Travis in your inbox
