Time Magazine chooses Rousey to “30 People Under 30 Changing the World”

December 6, 2013 by Jason Cruz 3 Comments

MMA Junkie reports that Ronda Rousey has been named to Time magazine’s list of “30 People Under 30 Changing the World.”  Rousey joins a list of entrepreneurs, policy makers, inventors and humanitarians.

The only other person on the list related to sports is Parker Liautaud, a Yale student that skied to the North Pole to study climate change.  Rousey was chosen because she “is updating the face of female athletics through her tough skills and commercial successes” according to Time.

Payout Perspective:

Despite Rousey’s on-air demeanor last Saturday on the TUF Finale, her accomplishments and the fact that she is an outspoken woman in a sport that is male-dominated is still the narrative to most mainstream media.  She recently appeared on the Jimmy Kimmel Show and happily told the story of kicking someone’s ass at a movie.  Overall, she presented well on the show.  So, while most of the MMA fans in the know may have lost respect for Rousey after some of her antics on TUF, she still can be a media darling and sell UFC 168.  Getting on the Time list may not mean much to most, but it is still good publicity for the UFC, Rousey and the sport of MMA.

“So, while most of the MMA fans in the know may have lost respect for Rousey after some of her antics on TUF.” Ding, ding, ding, In fact, count me as one of the many who hate her with a deep, deep passion. And not in the good “well you’ll tune in and buy her PPVs hoping she gets beat” way. No, I will literally never buy a PPV with her on it.

I actually like the fact that she is a bitch. In fact it was her attitude that won me over for WMMA to give it a chance. I didn’t want to see two girls in the cage having a hossy fit or trying to act like men. When I saw her break Tates arm and not give a fuck and both girls still talk shit. That was exactly what I was looking for. A real passion to fight and real toughness.

That said. I do not like her. The reason is because she is exactly like she claims she don’t like about other people. She is catty and petty and even more annoying is the fact she is a crazy bitch. To the point she cant even think straight. She is so obcessed with the crazy shit she has made up in her head that she makes a fool of he self and cant help it. Another thing that bugs me is when she is doing interviews. She cant stop talking. You ask her one question and she will go on forever. To the point it becomes borderline awkward. She also does so while talking 100 miles per hour. On the Kimmel show and when she was on FOX during the NFL pre game show. I couldn’t help but think “Calm the fuck down”!

Rousey is so full of herself, and she seems to have some kind of personality disorder. However, I can’t really put my finger on it.
