Bellator 103 drops in ratings from previous week

October 17, 2013 by Jason Cruz 3 Comments

Bellator MMA Live 103 showed a significant drop from last Friday as initial ratings from last Friday night showed an average viewership of 539,000 with a peak of 729,000 viewers.

Bellator 98 – 437,000 viewers

Bellator 99 – 660,000 viewers, 704,000 DVR+3

Bellator 100 – 700,000 viewers, 736,000 DVR+3

Bellator 101 – 649,000 viewers, 710,000 DVR +3

Bellator 102 – 675,000 viewers. 774,000 DVR +3

Bellator 103 – 539,000 viewers, 638,000 DVR +3

Payout Perspective:

The DVR numbers for this week do not bring it back to the previous norm which is above 700K viewers. It could be due to the St. Louis-Los Angeles MLB Playoffs but the numbers were the lowest since the season debut.

    This was not a high quality card for Bell. Pitbull was the only fight that I was interested in seeing. That is the price you pay, good or bad, for moving stars to the PPV. we will see how that strategy turns out.

    @assassin

    I agree. Bellator is gearing up for Nov. 2 and the events leading up to it will not be as good due to the fact its best fighters are going to be on the PPV.

    I thought last nights Bellator card was pretty decent.
    Heavyweight fight, Kendall Grove, War Machine, and Rick Hawn, One would hope this results in slightly higher ratings for them.
    Plus glad to see da Spider Grove back in the win column.

I should point out that according to those at TKO that the ESPN/MVPW boxing deal is a revenue sharing agreement similar to the original AEW/Turner deal in 2019 and not a full paying media rights deal which Top Rank had and wasn't renewed.
