MMA Fighting reports that UFC on Fuel TV 7 received a ratings average of 195,000 viewers for the live broadcast this past Saturday afternoon. The prime time replay of the show on Fuel garnered 116,000 viewers.
Below are numbers from the UFC on Fuel events held outside of North America with the live events not in prime time.
UFC on Fuel TV 6: 88,000 live, 143,000 replay
UFC on Fuel TV 5: 111,000 live, 140,000 replay
UFC on Fuel TV 2: 197,000 live
Payout Perspective:
As you can see, this past Saturday’s event fared well considering the history of low numbers for non-prime time events. However, it did not have a strong replay viewership. Still, the card lasted over 6 hours if you watched the 3 hour Prelims on Facebook or YouTube. This is due, in part, to the number of fights that went to decision.
I think to really compare these overseas events to each other you have to add the replay to the original airing. It’s a good sign more people are realizing the original start time. But some like me can’t see that one and my friends gather for the second showing. Anyone who works really can’t catch the live show. Especially the 9-5 crowd.

Yeah I can see why more people didnt watch the replay, probably found out the card wasnt great and had a ton of decisions, that only the main/co main event and one fight on the prelims were worth watching.

I dont think it was the decisions that hurt the replay. I mean it could be but there is really only 2 likely options. 1. This was a huge ratings success whose live showing blew away other early live showings. Or 2. the shows success was about the same but more people caught the live show and had no reason to watch the replay. The two airings beats the last Fuel event total viewers by like 30%. Hard to believe that number would have been that much higher if the undercard didnt suck. I just think more people, with the recent events and attention the UFC is getting, are tuning in earlier. Maybe it was the anticipation of the main event that caused people not to wait for the replay. who knows.
