ESPN’s E:60 sports magazine program did a feature this week on Georges St. Pierre as he nears his return to the Octagon. The feature goes to Montreal to look at GSP’s roots.
Although there has been speculation of sagging ticket sales for GSP’s return, it appears that the event will be a sellout by the time November 17th rolls around.
Payout Perspective:
It’s a good feature on GSP and sheds some light on his upbringing including the fact that he was not very popular as a kid and was bullied. He even showed how he would turtle up when kids would punch and kick him. Despite Dana White’s on again off again relationship with ESPN, this feature was well done.
You can tell he is not a real fighter. Just an athlete that wrestles and throws amateurish wild haymakers.
That’s right SS. He’s a fake. You found him out. Now say it to his face.
Grappling is part of fighting and his is among the very best in the UFC. His striking is average at worst. And his transitions – his ability to put striking and grappling together is perhaps the best in the UFC.
But I do agree that he’s a tremendous athlete on top of all that.
Why would I say it to his face as I would never go out of my way to attend his laborious fights let alone buy another one on PPV.

Nothing makes someone look more like a 6 year old child than someone saying “Say it to his face”. Come on now Diego. I would say it to his face and i bet you $5,000 he doesnt do anything. What are you accomplishing? You could call a 1993 Royve Gracie one diminsional. Just because you wouldnt say it to his face doesnt make it any less true. Then on top of not having anything to do with the arguement. You are also assuming someone like GSP is going to thrash someone because they are not impressed by his performance. Now if you go back pre 1998. Then the fighters were tougher and meaner and wasnt looked at like professional sports heros. Fighters took commits personaly and maybe saying something would get you beat down. But not today in 99.9% of situations.
You may as well tell him your dad can beat up his dad.
Sampson, I agree he isnt the toughest fighter out there, But has has comeback from a loss which shows a little something. Lets look at the boxing poster boy. FMJ. HE does everything he cant to avoid getting hit and refuses to fight anyone he cant beat. HE has never manned up to step back in the ring after getting beat. Fact is we would all be fighters if all you have to do was beat someone up. What makes a fighter is dealing with a loss and having the balls to get back in the ring win or lose. Something GSP has done and FMJ has never done.
