UFC on FX 5 gate, attendance and bonuses.

October 6, 2012 by Jason Cruz 2 Comments

MMA Junkie reports that UFC on FX 5 attendance, gate and bonuses as reported at the post-fight press conference.  The event came from the Target Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota Friday night.

Official attendance was 7,409 for a live gate of $358,000.

The bonuses were as follows (via MMA Junkie) :

Fight of the Night:  Diego Nunes vs. Bart Palaszewski

KO of the Night:  Michael Johnson

Submission of the Night:  Justin Edwards

Each of the fighters earned an extra $40,000 in addition to their respective fight purses.

Payout Perspective:

A very small gathering (and gate) for Friday’s event. It seemed like there’s more news coming out of what happened surrounding the event that the actual fights.   First, the Jeremy Stephens arrest and the subsequent lack of information on whether he would fight or not.  Second, the Dennis Hallman issue.  He did not make weight yet Dana White gave him his show and win money.  Obviously, there’s more going on with him than originally revealed.  Bloody Elbow reports that he’s in a custody battle and it’s likely the money will assist with that issue.

That was the best card I’ve seen in a long time. I can’t wait to get cable so I can watch the free events on fuel and fx. The best fights have been on the prelims. Now they are on the free tv cards. Talk about bang for your buck. Just pay your cable bill. I can’t wait till fuel becomes ufc tv.

Yes, the Pulitzer-winning journalist is the source we should ignore, not the people who continue to want access to the LA sports team they cover. This was a dumb thing to think and an even dumber thing to tweet.
