UFC 149 Prelims: 1 million viewers

July 25, 2012 by Jason Cruz Leave a Comment

MMA Weekly reports that UFC 149 Prelims on FX drew an average of 1 million viewers.  The average viewership ranks below the 1.3 million viewer average for the Prelims on FX.

Despite the below average ratings, the prelims featured the best action of the night as it produced the Fight of the Night (Caraway and Gagnon) and the KO of the Night (Jimmo).

Payout Perspective:

The UFC 149 main card was injury plagued and it appears that this may have impacted viewing of the prelims.  Obviously, 149 pales in comparison to the UFC 148 Prelims which hit a 1.8 million viewer average.  The injuries to fighters continue to be a problem with events and 149 was a prime example of what happens if fighter injuries occur at the same time.
