UFC 148 Prelims: 1.8 million viewers

July 11, 2012 by Jason Cruz 2 Comments

MMA Weekly reports that the UFC 148 Prelims hit an FX average of 1.8 million viewers.  The rating was the highest for a prelims show on FX thus far.

According to MMA Weekly, the UFC Prelims average for its 2 hour shows is 1.35 million after 7 shows on the FX network.

Payout Perspective:

The hype for the main card helped the prelims average here.  1.8 million is a good showing considering FX has moved to a 2 hour prelims show.  While I don’t expect future prelims to hit this average, its a sign that UFC 148 was the biggest show of the year for the UFC.

Looks like the PPV did about 1M buys which is pretty damn good although I’m sure Zuffa were hoping for more. I wonder how much Silva-Weidman will do.

Likely not much since Wiedman is being rushed into the fight. Im sure the auto rematch Silva will get will do much better numbers. 😉
