The UFC and Jobbi.com are offering ordinary people the opportunity to apply online to be a UFC fighter. Jobbi.com is a job search web site that has been a UFC sponsor since the fall of 2010.
Via UFC web site:
With thousands of fighters applying annually to the UFC for the opportunity to fight in the Octagon, applicants can now post their profiles, videos, photos and their fight history on Jobbi.com. A simple application is then automatically shared directly with UFC management for their review.
Payout Perspective:
Jobbi.com has appeared in the Octagon at UFC events but there has been no brand activation until now. Let’s be honest, don’t expect any fighter applying online to appear in the Octagon any time soon. If you were really considering a foray into the octagon, you’d tryout for The Ultimate Fighter. Secondly, I think the UFC has a scouting department. So, if you’re good and on the rise, someone within the UFC will let Dana White know. Yet, this is a novel idea and a bit of a social media tie-in as users will be able to see other applicants. The applicants will need to fill out an application on Jobbi.com’s web site so it will expose people to Jobbi.com’s web site and what it has to offer.

I agree the average joe isnt getting into the UFC this way. However it would be a very good idea for all up and coming pro fighters to apply on this site. If you have potential and are UFC worthy then this could open the door for you. Lets be honest the UFC isnt going to pick an unqualified fighter from this company. But if the fighter is qualified then it would be great activation of the sponsorship to sign them. But the UFC could send word to prospects they are going to sign and have them to apply just to claim they come from the applicants. Not sure if this will happen because i dont see the UFC placing that much importance on getting over this site. I doubt its that big of a sponsor to go through all that. Maybe if it was a multi million deal they would. My point being they dont have to take average joes to actually use the process.

This seems like the ufc scratching a sponsor’s back, which is all fine good and well.

Guys for all those wanting to consider MMA be aware that to be a UFC you will need to not just have acquired various elements of martial arts which includes Boxing, Muay Thai, Greco Roman and Freestyle Olympic Wrestling, plus fitness and conditioning which forms the overall MMA. You always will have to be productive with sparring and striking. Again this is part of MMA. This can take 4 to 6 years to be considered an amateur. I am going through the same process and too many are focusing way to high. Start with a local MMA club most do BJJ as a seperate program but BJJ is not part of MMA.
I hope this makes sense to those who wanna be UFC fighters. Much pain to be gained!!!!

I been fighting all my life, I am a natural athlete. I was bullied so much growing up and finally put a stop to it. I was stationed in Japan and loved fighting before the military and decided to try out to see if I can mold my street skills into a more technical style. I became a great fighter. I was fighting out of tenkaichi dojo in Okinawa Japan and sooned ranked in the top 3 I’m undefeated. The only thing that is holding me back is money it takes money to train and as you know it you can’t just half ass it. I love the style and know I can be the best. I’m 6’1 205lbs I study all styles and love the culture.
