WEC 50: Payouts and Bonuses

WEC 50: Cruz vs. Benavidez was held on Wednesday, August 18 at the Palms Resort and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. The total amount of disclosed pay was $221,000, with an additional $40,000 being paid in disclosed fight night bonuses.

The following payout figures come courtesy of Sherdog.com:

Dominick Cruz $22,000 ($11,000) defeated Joseph Benavidez $17,500

Main Card

Anthony Pettis $12,000 ($6,000 show/win) defeated Shane Roller $16,000
Chad Mendes $11,000 ($5,500 show/win) defeated Cub Swanson $11,000
Scott Jorgensen $25,000 ($12,500 show/win) defeated Brad Pickett $7,000
Brad Palaszewski $16,000 ($8,000 show/win) defeated Zach Mickelwright $3,000

Maciej Jewtuszko $6,000 ($3,000 show/win) defeated Anthony Njokuani $7,000

    Ratings are out – average viewers 316,000
    In context the lowest rated show going back to WEC 34 as per MMAJunkie

    316K is the lowest rated show for the WEC since WEC 32 in 2008 which garnered 268K viewers, Condit vs Prater main event. =)

    The numbers are definitely heading in the wrong direction. The arena looked relatively empty, have not seen any ticket sales #’s yet.

    When the event is held at the Palms, you can expect low attend (less than 2K) and a low gate. In terms of ratings, the last two Zuffa events on Versus have not been very good, though expect some kind of bump for the next televised WEC event.
