Justin Wilcox: $5,000 (no win bonus) def. Daisuke Nakamura: $200

Note:

  • Lawal was fined 10% of his purse for allegedly splashing Rockstar Energy Drink all over the cage after his match.
  • While it appears that Daisuke Nakamura only received $200 in disclosed salary, these are just disclosed salaries that represent only a portion of a fighter’s total purse. The fact that he’s fought on numerous M-1 and Dream cards leads me to believe he’s got a different type of contract and compensation agreement than the rest of the fighters on this card.

Strikeforce has a history of only paying foreign fighters like Misaki, Ishida, Mousasi, Fedor, Nakamura, etc a certain minimum and pay the rest as undisclosed bonuses. I am sure it has something to do with foreign fighters paying American taxes.

Yes, the Pulitzer-winning journalist is the source we should ignore, not the people who continue to want access to the LA sports team they cover. This was a dumb thing to think and an even dumber thing to tweet.
