Strikeforce has just sent out an e-mail indicating that the organization will be holding a media conference call for Thursday at which time it is expected to address, in further detail, the Fedor Emelianenko signing. In addition to Fedor and Scott Coker, Vadim Finkelstein will also be present on the call.
I suspect at this time we’ll get more information from the trio in regards to the deal itself, Fedor’s fight plans, and how the relationship with M-1 is going to work. There have been reports that the co-promotion will not be a 50-50 split and that Fedor will not fight Overeem in his first fight – some from Coker himself – but we’ll avoid any further speculation until some of the facts come out on Thursday.
