Aldo makes Forbes’ 30 under 30 list

January 5, 2016 by Jason Cruz Leave a Comment

Jose Aldo cracked the Forbes annual 30 under 30 list for sports figures.  Despite his loss at UFC 194, Aldo was featured along with other athletes and sports figures under the age of 30.

Aldo’s brief bio for Forbes informs that he reigned as a World Champion for 6 years and went a decade without losing a match.  The bio also indicates that he was ranked #1 in the official UFC pound-for-pound rankings.

Aldo joined other athletes under 30 including players from the NFL (Russell Wilson) and NBA (Steph Curry).

Payout Perspective:

Aldo’s inclusion on this list is well-deserved.  It is also likely PR driven and the lobbying for his name on the list occurred prior to his fight at UFC 194.  It is interesting that with all of the records broken, Conor McGregor was not named to this list.  At 27, McGregor has a couple years left to make it.
