UFC-IBM announce major sponsorship deal

November 14, 2024 by Jason Cruz Leave a Comment

Remember when Dana White said that the reporters doing the UFC rankings should be replaced by AI? That may be happening as the UFC and IBM have signed a global sponsorship deal per the Sports Business Journal. The partnership will seek to focus on the Artificial Intelligence sector.

According to the report, IBM gets designations as UFC’s initial “Global AI Partner” and “Official Technology Partner,” along with exclusivity with the B2B “Enterprise AI” category.

Notably, the UFC deal was negotiated directly with IBM instead of the company using its long-time agents. Financial details were not disclosed.

Payout Perspective:

This can be seen as a major deal for the UFC as IBM only does sponsor deals with major sports entities. The deal reflects the fact that the UFC is a major player in the sports landscape, and as it always has, an early adopter to the latest trends. This time, Artificial Intelligence seems to be the key component of this deal.
