UFC Fight Night 284 took place at The Apex last night in Las Vegas. The promotion gave out 4 $100K bonuses.
The main event featuring Paul Rojas, Jr. and Raoni Barcelos drew the Fight of the Night with each earning $100K. Rojas earned the stoppage victory in the 5th round in a somewhat scary situation in which Barcelos appeared unresponsive and had to be stretchered out of the Octagon. The good news is that reports indicate that Barcelos is in the hospital recovering.
Luis Hernandez earned a $100K performance bonus for his first round submission RNC of Sedriques Dumas. Hernandez, a police officer, earned his first bonus of his UFC career. A fight that was inappropriately hailed as cop versus criminal (as Dumas has a lengthy criminal record), Hernandez downplayed the promotion of it
Yazmin Jauregui earned her $100K performance bonus with her first round stoppage of Vanessa Demopoulos.
The $25K stoppage winners included Valesca Machado, Brady Hiestand, Christian Edwards, Elves Brener and Montel Jackson.
