March 29, 2026 by Jason Cruz Leave a Comment

Demetrious “Mighty Mouse” Johnson will be inducted into the UFC’s Modern Wing of its Hall of Fame this summer. The announcement came during the UFC Seattle Fight Night broadcast of which Johnson was in attendance.

Per the UFC release:

“Demetrious Johnson is the greatest flyweight of all-time,” said UFC President & CEO Dana White. “Demetrious was a great champion who had one of the most incredible careers in MMA, and his streak of 11 consecutive title defenses is one of the most remarkable records we’ve ever seen in professional sports. It will be an honor to induct him into the UFC Hall of Fame this summer.”

Johnson was one of the most dominant UFC flyweights after the inception of the weight class. He has the record for the longest title reign in UFC flyweight history. He also has the longest consecutive fight winning streak in UFC flyweight history with 13.

Johnson was “traded” to One Championship in exchange for Ben Askren in 2018. He went on to have a successful career in One winning 5 of his six fights with the company.

Johnson will be inducted into the UFC HOF during International Fight Week in July.
