March 24, 2026 by Jason Cruz Leave a Comment

Jimmy and Jey Uso will be in attendance on Wednesday in San Francisco for MLB’s Opening Night on Netflix.

The Usos will be “special guests” for its Opening Night broadcast. The Usos were born in San Francisco, California which ties them in for the event. Of course, they also appear on WWE Raw which also airs on Netflix.

This is the first year that Netflix gets Major League Baseball. In November, MLB announced that it entered into a three-year media rights deal with ESPN, NBC, and Netflix.

In line with its strategy, Netflix will get special highlighted events which include Wednesday’s Opening Night. It will also have exclusive rights to the T-Mobile Home Run Derby and the 2026 MLB at Field of Dreams Game.

Interesting - in the early 2000s, HBO had to defend "de facto" promoter allegations in front of Congress. If DAZN uses licensed promoters to organize the fights, it's hard to call them a "promoter." SRL signed deals with ABC and HBO without having a promoter, so it's been done.
