Rousey gives perspective on UFC fighter pay

March 11, 2026 by Jason Cruz Leave a Comment

Ronda Rousey did not hold back on the UFC during a press conference today promoting her May fight on Netflix against Gina Carano. She did not mince words when it came to the current state of the UFC.

“The UFC is one of the worst places to go,” Rousey told the assembled media in attendance. Their champions like Valentina are selling pictures of their t___ies on OnlyFans. They just got $7.7 billion dollars. There’s no reason they can’t pay their athletes.”

Ronda Rousey: It used to be that UFC was the best place that you could come in combat sports to make a living and be paid fairly and now it's no longer…it's one of the worst places to go…it's why their champions like Valentina are selling pictures of their titties on… pic.twitter.com/S5MLeeZW9P

Rousey is selling her fight against Gina Carano and throwing shade and her perceived competitor, the UFC. In a tweet the other day, she commented that The White House card “sucks.” She continued her onslaught on the card indicating that “Dana knows” that The White House card is not good.

Obviously, Rousey did not speak out while under the UFC umbrella. She was the highest paid fighter in her time that rivaled Conor McGregor in terms of overall pay. According to this report from John Nash, she was the highest paid fighter almost making $2 million in 2014.

In 2014 the UFC had $413 million in event revenue, and paid out $62 million in fight related compensation, or 15%. The highest paid fighter that year was Rousey, with $1.9 million earned for the year. That was 2 years before WME bought the company. https://t.co/JXLfsArGTQ
