Ngannou set to face Lins on Rousey-Carano undercard

March 9, 2026 by Jason Cruz Leave a Comment

After the public exit of Francis Ngannou from the PFL, he has signed on to fight Philippe Lins as part of the Ronda Rousey-Gina Carano card on Netflix.

#NgannouVsLins joins #RouseyVsCarano on @Netflix May 16th!
Howโ€™s THAT for a bamf laden double headliner?
Thatโ€™s what happens when you put fighters and fans ahead of shareholders @MostVpromotions
P.S. @ufcโ€™s White House card sucks ๐Ÿ–•๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿ–•๐Ÿผ

It will be Ngannou’s first fight since October 2024. Lins last fight was a win in the UFC in March 2024. He had signed with the Global Fight League after that, but the company has not held any events.

The PFL and Ngannou split ways last week as announced by the Professional Fighters League. It appears that Ngannou had this fight set up with the announcement so quickly after the PFL news. Late last year, Ngannou intimated that he was ready to fight and despite the PFL claiming they had big things in store for this year, it never materialized.

Rousey took to twitter to make the announcement and also throw shade at the UFC White House card.

Payout Perspective:

It’s clear that UFC fans were hoping for more from the UFC White House card on June 14th. Now, there may be a realistic chance that Rousey-Carano may get more viewership than the Paramount card unless CBS decides to air it on the network. Netflix has more subscribers than Paramount plus and despite their advanced age, Rousey and Carano is a “one off” fight that will draw a casual viewer that may recall watching them fight years ago and will tune in to nostalgia. Rousey’s twitter comments are part of promoting the show. Ngannou returning so quickly to active MMA after leaving the PFL makes one wonder who was at fault for the obvious promotional failure.
