Report: Paramount + draws ~1M new subs

January 28, 2026 by Jason Cruz Leave a Comment

Business Insider was one of the sources that reported that Paramount+ received nearly 1 million subscribers for the debut of the UFC on the platform.

Paramount’s Chief Product Officer stated that it was “the second-largest day of sign-ups ever” and UFC 324 was “the second-most streamed event” in UFC history. Notably, Christmas 2025 was the largest day of sign-ups for Paramount. Super Bowl LVIII was the most watch sporting event on the platform although it was not exclusive. As we know, UFC 324 was only on Paramount+ in the US.

While it is just one event, many analysts are bullish on the debut. Some analysts lauded the use of ads during the event while viewers complained of them. It will likely be something that subscribers (even those in the “no ads” tier) will need to get used to. The demo of those watching fell in line with the typical UFC demo of young, male which appeases advertisers.

With the influx of new subscribers, Paramount must retain them and ensure that they just don’t leave after this weekend’s UFC 325. A nice start to the UFC although we shouldn’t expect them to attract that many subscribers for each new UFC event.
