Jake Paul no longer affiliated with PFL

January 21, 2026 by Jason Cruz Leave a Comment

According to a report from Yahoo Sports, Jake Paul is no longer affiliated with the Professional Fighters League. Ariel Helwani broke the news on his daily show.

Paul burst onto the MMA scene with the PFL in 2023 with talk of crossing over into MMA. While he did several appearances and commentary on a show, his work with the PFL never materialized. Moreover, it seemed like they didn’t really have a fit for Paul and how to use him to promote MMA.

Notably, on Wednesday, Donn Davis stepped down as Chairman of the PFL.

Payout Perspective:

Its hard not to wonder what the plans were for Paul with the PFL. Did he really have aspirations of stepping into the PFL cage like Claressa Shields. Or, was it a ploy to attract an “influencer” to attend events to create buzz. Regardless, one has to assume that the investment in paying Paul did not produce a return on investment the way they envisioned.
