Donn Davis announced via social media that he would be stepping down as Chairman of the Professional Fighters League.
“From the moment I founded Professional Fighters League 8 years ago, it has been my life,” wrote Davis. “My vision was to create an innovative and premium MMA company as the valuable alternative for those that want it or need it.”
Payout Perspective:
Is this something or nothing? While Davis touts some achievements in his goodbye, the company could have done more with its acquisition of Bellator. Moreover, there was a bad perception of the company when its top fighters such as Francis Ngannou and Dakota Ditcheva openly asked to be active but there was nothing apparently scheduled. Ngannou went on Ariel Helwani’s show late in 2025 to state that his contract with PFL was up with just participating in one fight. Davis came out that they had big plans for Ngannou but nothing has materialized yet. With a new Chairman, the hope is that PFL will start to put on more fights and find its self a media deal that will air them.
