Mick Foley takes a stand

December 17, 2025 by Jason Cruz Leave a Comment

Former WWE wrestler Mick Foley made a statement on social media on Tuesday when he announced that he would no longer be affiliated with the company after comments made by Donald Trump following the death of Rob Reiner and his wife.

“I no longer wish to represent a company that coddles a man so seemingly void of compassion as he marches our country towards autocracy,” a portion of the message reads. Foley has been a long-time supporter of many left-leaning causes. He has sent out messages on social media which oppose the current administration and its policies. He further writes, “Additionally, I will not be signing a new Legends deal when my current one expires in June.”

This is what you call taking a stand. While Foley cannot make WWE change. He doesn’t have to support them. Foley could have continued to be a part of WWE and no one would criticize him because he’s not in a position to change WWE policy. But making this stand shows that boycotting and protesting shows solidarity with other fighting the same fight.
