Hearing scheduled for Ali Act legislation

November 28, 2025 by Jason Cruz Leave a Comment

A United States Congressional Committee will hear testimony related to proposed legislation on the Muhammad Ali Boxing Revival Act.

Entitled, “In Their Corner: Creating More Opportunities for American Boxers” the title tells you that the hearing was coordinated by supporters of the legislation. TKO’s Zuffa Boxing is in support of the new legislation which would allow for Unified Boxing Organizations. This would allow for organizations like Zuffa Boxing to run parallel promotions without having to work through sanctioning bodies. Hence, the boxing promotion would serve as promoter and sanctioning body. The main action with this is that Zuffa Boxing would recognize its own champion at a weight class, but not the champion of another sanctioning body.

Although a list of witnesses have not been identified one would assume that the hearing would include testimony on how the new law would impact the boxing industry.
