On the Andrew Schulz podcast this week, Dana White told the story of how former UFC fighter Francis Ngannou put his hands on him in a meeting. White claimed that Ngannou was arguing with him in his office when he grabbed the UFC head by the shirt.
White stated that he told Ngannou to get “his hands off me.” The behavior of Ngannou was seemingly confirmed by former UFC employee Ant Evans. In his own social media post, Evans confirms that “Francis was a terror at the UFC office…” He noted that Ngannou stood over people’s desks and he struck Evans as a bully.
Evans offers a first hand account of his impressions of Ngannou which may supersedes any of the outside world’s impressions who have not met the former UFC champ.
Of course, Dana’s story seems odd since he never brought it up especially after his divorce from the fighter. (Maybe we are dealing with statute of limitations issues for defamation but who knows). Notwithstanding, a guy so vehement of burying their enemies, one would think White would have brought up this much sooner.
But saying this casually on a podcast where he knows everyone in the MMA community will be watching seems to have one ponder if he is baiting a lawsuit from Ngannou. Obviously, if not true, Ngannou has every right to sue for defamation. But, if it is true, it would paint Ngannou in a bad light and damage his reputation (presumably).
