$700K for UFC to fix White House lawn

October 6, 2025 by Jason Cruz Leave a Comment

Donald Trump announced on Sunday that the UFC event that will be held at The White House will be on his birthday June 14th. Notably, the promise of a July 4th event on the lawn will not happen.

Dana White released renderings of what the event will look like. He also indicated that the UFC will need to spend $700,000 just to replace the South Lawn grass. This will be just a part of the costs to put on the event. In a previous news item, it was noted that only 5,000-6,000 individuals will be able to attend while screens will be put up nearby so fans could watch.

Last September, the UFC spent an estimated $20 million to set up Noche UFC at the Sphere in 2024. According to an interview with the Sports Business Journal, White said the UFC will pay whatever it takes to put on the event.

It is not known how much the U.S. government will pay as well.

Payout Perspective:

I am against this event happening at The White House for many reasons. The most being is that its a ploy to distract people from what is going on in the presidency. Moreover, it is once again a government paid event specifically for the sitting president because its his birthday. Recall last year, he got a military parade. Notably, White does not like putting on outdoor events because of the variability of the weather. We will see how this one goes if it comes to fruition.
