Third fight between Taylor-Serrano draws 6M viewers on Netflix

July 14, 2025 by Jason Cruz Leave a Comment

Media outlets are reporting that the third fight between Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano drew approximately 6 million viewers. The report was from data from Netflix and VideoAmp.

The data is based on average minute audience and is based on those that watched the event on Friday night and one day of playback. The report indicates that 4.2M of the viewers were from the U.S.

Per Variety, reached number one on Netflix in the US, Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand, and made the Top 10 in 43 countries.

The viewership did not do as well as their second fight which drew over 70 million viewers. Of course, that November 2024 telecast featured Jake Paul and Mike Tyson in the main event. Their first fight on DAZN drew 1.5 million viewers.

Also, per Variety, the event drew 19,721 people at Madison Square Garden and generated a gate of $2.63 million. It was the biggest gate in women’s boxing and for a female sporting event in MSG history.

Payout Perspective:

The event shows that there’s a potential future for women’s boxing. Of course, they will need to do it without these two boxers fighting one another. The promotion leading up to this fight was well-received. The trilogy was something that a casual boxing fan wanted to see and it lived up to its promotion.

Interesting - in the early 2000s, HBO had to defend "de facto" promoter allegations in front of Congress. If DAZN uses licensed promoters to organize the fights, it's hard to call them a "promoter." SRL signed deals with ABC and HBO without having a promoter, so it's been done.
