The UFC won two Sports Emmys earlier this week for its event production of UFC 306, also known as Noche UFC. The UFC won a Sports Emmy for Outstanding Graphic Design – Specialty and Outstanding Studio or Production Design/Art Direction.
The event was the first (and probably last) event at the Sphere in Las Vegas. It was Dana White’s vision and his “love letter” to Mexican Combat Sports which took place during Mexican Independence Day weekend. In the leadup to the event in September 2024, he stated that the event cost more than $20 million. He also hoped that the event would win awards for its presentation.
Notably, the same week that the UFC wins the two Sports Emmys, Sean O’Malley’s coach complained of the lighting at the Sphere for his loss to Merab Dvalishvili.
